• PernAngband 4.0.0
  DarkGod released a new version of PernAngband with many new features. Source code, a DOS version and an Acorn version by Henry Helliwell are available for download.
• Australian FTP-site mirror
  Good news for all Angband players in Australia and New Zealand, the Angband FTP site is now mirrored at mirror.aarnet.edu.au!

• ZAngband 2.2.6c
  I thought I fixed the ugly bug that sometimes screwed up finishing a random quest, but the bug was still present in the 2.2.6b release. So here comes ZAngband 2.2.6c as source code, DOS, and Windows 95/98/NT version. A patch from the 2.2.6b to the 2.2.6c source code is available as well.

  Bugfixes and changes in this version:

  • *Really* fixed the bug that could cause crashs when finishing a random quest.
  • Several changes to the 'Old Castle' quest. Replaced the "unknown grids" with normal floor. Fixed a bug that placed Mother Hydra instead of Death Knights. The reward is now correctly placed in front of the inn. You will now fail the quest when leaving without completing it first.
  • Fixed a bug that caused beam spells to do double damage at the end of the beam.
  • Orc and Troll pits will no longer contain undead trolls or orcs.
  • The casino will throw you out if you don't have money.
  • Fixed a glitch in the description of the snotlings.
  • Splitted up the cave generation source code.

• GSNband 2.0
  Gwidon S. Naskrent released a new mayor version of his variant GSNband. The list of changes is rather long. :-)
• Amiga ports
  Bablos ported CthAngband 3.1.2b and ZAngband 2.2.6 to the Amiga.
• Mac ports
  And Prfnoff ported ZAngband 2.2.6 and a new version of Angband 2.8.3h (with support for 16x16 tiles) to the 68k and PPC Macs.

• ZAngband 2.2.6b
  It seems like an ugly bug slipped into the 2.2.6 release of ZAngband. Finishing a random quest could crash the game. I've uploaded an updated version without this bug as source code, DOS, and Windows 95/98/NT version. A patch from the 2.2.6 to the 2.2.6b source code is available as well.

• ZAngband 2.2.6
  As promised a new ZAngband version is here.

  The source code, DOS, and Windows 95/98/NT version are available for download.

  Changes in this version:

  • Added a new quest and 3 new artifacts by Shayne Steele.
  • Added a new quest by John I'anson-Holton.
  • Added Mark Kvale's labyrinth rooms.
  • The Alter (+) command will close an open door, as the documentation says it does.
  • The monster memory will now record the lack of attacks of some monsters.
  • Fixed some small bugs in the documentation.
  • Fixed some bugs that prevented display of the correct message when failing some of the quests.
  • The quest stairs will no longer be placed on objects.
  • Disintegration spells will no longer affect grass and dirt and disintegrated trees will leave behind a patch of grass.
  • Cleaned up the handling of non-living monsters.
  • Monsters detected by magic are now correctly marked as seen in the monster memory.
  • Rewards for killing uniques are no longer depending on the "speaking uniques" option.
  • Fixed several small bugs in the monster definitions.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the proper assignment of the Water Cave quest.
  • Fixed a bug in the distribution of charges for thrown wands and rods.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Eldritch Horrors detected by telepathy or magic from blasting your sanity.
  • Secret doors the player reveals are sometimes locked or jammed.
  • Doubled the maximum number of objects and monsters per level.
  • The spell list now uses colors.
  • The savefile loading code now always shows the correct version number.
  • Fixed a compilation problem in the X11 module when compiling with graphics turned off.
  • Fixed a compilation problem on Solaris and SGI machines.
  Patches from the 2.2.5e to the 2.2.6 source code are available too.

• ZAngband "Work In Progress"
  Today's development version is now at the ZAngband Developer Page. It fixes some bugs introduced in the earlier WIP versions.
• 4x *AngbandTk
  Tim Baker compiled new Tk-enhanced Windows versions of Angband, KAngband, OAngband, and ZAngband.

• ZAngband "Work In Progress"
  And again a new development version arrives at the ZAngband Developer Page. A new release version of ZAngband will follow soon.

• CthAngband bugfix
  Dean Anderson has released an update that fixes a bug in the wilderness of CthAngband 3.1.2. Prfnoff compiled it already for the PPC and 68k Macs.
• ZAngband "Work In Progress"
  I've uploaded a new "experimental" source code patch to the ZAngband Developer Page.
• Bugtracker
  The Bugtracker for ZAngband and KAngband is online again. Feel free to enter your bugreports into the database, browse the list of bugs, make suggestionss or discuss various Angband related stuff. You can also mail your reports to tgbugs@angband.org.
• Angband savefile competition
  George is back and has started a new round of his Angband savefile competition.

• Mac ports
  This time Prfnoff compiled RAngband 1.05a and CthAngband 3.1.2 for the PPC and 68k Macs.

• ZAngband "Work In Progress"
  I've uploaded a new source code patch to the ZAngband Developer Page. It is marked as "experimental", since the new quests are still untested.

• Macintosh ZAngband
  Prfnoff compiled ZAngband 2.2.5e for the PPC and 68k Macs.

• Japanese Angband versions
  I've added more than a dozen Japanese Angband pages to the Links section. I never knew there was a Japanese version of Angband using Kanji. To my surprise I even found a pre-compiled Japanese version of ZAngband 2.2.5e for Windows 95/98/NT! Now all I need is somebody who can translate these pages for me. :-)

• CthAngband 3.1.2
  A new version of CthAngband is now available. Dean Anderson fixed several bugs and added some new features like new vaults and 'Pouch' equipment slots. Bablos already compiled the Amiga version.
• ZAngband 2.2.5e for Acorn
  Musus Umbra compiled ZAngband 2.2.5e for Acorn RISC OS. He also wrote a nice Angband review, beginners guide, and FAQ for the Acorn Arcade.
