ZAngband 2.2.5e for Amiga
Bablos compiled the new ZAngband 2.2.5e for the Amigas.
Linux Angband FAQ
Remco Gerlich compiled a FAQ from all the questions he (and others) asked about Linux and Angband on rec.games.roguelike.angband. It handles topics like installing and compiling Angband as well as solving problems in the console and X-windows version.

Savefile competition
A new competition round has just started. So head over to Cookie's Angband Page and download Xinoceles, the ZAngband 2.2.5d/e Half-Titan Life/Sorcery Priest.

ZAngband 2.2.5e
And again a new version of ZAngband arrives.
The source code, DOS, and Windows 95/98/NT version are available for download.
Changes in this version:
- Recharging wands, staffs, and rods is now easier and more powerful.
- Fixed a bug that could crash the game when recharging wands or staves with many charges.
- Fixed a bug that created overcharged wands when purchasing wands from stores.
- The black market will now often carry stacks of wands, rods, and staves.
- Fixed a bug in trump magic's Mind Blast spell that could crash the game.
- Fixed a bug in the pricing of the recharge services for staves.
- The Windows version will now prevent saving and exiting the game while reading a scroll to stop certain abuses.
Patches from the 2.2.5d to the 2.2.5e source code are available too.
Mac ports
Prfnoff compiled ZAngband 2.2.5d and GSNband 1.3b for the Macs.

FTP-server problems
In the last few weeks I received many complains about problems with the export.andrew.cmu.edu Angband FTP-server. I think these problems are related to a recent change on the server, that requires a feature called "reverse domain-name lookup" to be supported by the Internet service provider of everybody who wants to connect to the server. If you have problems connecting to export.andrew.cmu.edu then please either get in touch with your ISP and demand that "reverse domain-name lookup" is supported or contact the FTP-site maintainer Brian E. Gallew and ask him politely to remove this requirement.

Amiga ports
Bablos compiled ZAngband 2.2.5d and RAngband 1.05a for the Amiga.
A + K + O + Z AngbandTk
Tim Baker created new Tk versions of Angband 2.8.3, KAngband 2.8.3j (patch1), OAngband 0.4.0, and ZAngband 2.2.5c. There is already a patch available that fixes the problems with character records.
Acorn ports
CthAngband 3.1.1 and the new ZAngband 2.2.5d have been ported to the Acorn RISC OS by Musus Umbra.
ZAngband "Work In Progress"
For everybody who always wants to have the latest version I've started to make diff files of my most up-to-date changes available. So if you can compile the source code, then you can grab the newest versions before the normal players have them. I'll try to organize the patches into a "stable" and an "experimental" section. The patches marked as stable are normally well tested and shouldn't make any problems, the experimental patches may be too dangerous to let them loose on characters that will soon win the game. ;-)
If you find a bug then report it together with the date of the patch to me.

ZAngband 2.2.5d
ZAngband 2.2.5c isn't even a week old and already a new version is here.
The source code, DOS, and Windows 95/98/NT version are available for download.
Changes in this version:
- Spells that ask for a direction or an item to apply the spell to, can now be canceled without losing a turn or mana.
- Fixed a bug in Z 2.2.5c that lowered the hitpoints of many monsters.
- Fixed two small bugs in the vaults.
- Blue horrors will now appear near the location of the killed Pink horror.

ZAngband 2.2.5c
Version 2.2.5c of ZAngband is now available.
As usual the source code, DOS, and Windows 95/98/NT version have been prepared.
Changes in this version:
- Fixed a bug that prevented locked doors from detection with spells.
- Fixed a compilation problem in main-gcu.c for curses versions support for colors.
- Fixed a bug that allowed stacked staves to be overcharged in the tower of sorcery.
- Fixed some bugs in the new vaults.
- Fixed a bug that messed up the order of quests in the town Telmora.
- Fixed a bug that allowed Farmer Maggot's dogs to speak when dying and to be wanted for crimes.
- Fixed a bug in the definition of the 16x16 tile for angels.
- Compiled the DOS version with the up-to-date version of Allegro 3.11. This should improve compatibility with various sound- and graphic-cards.
- The Windows version no longer requires the ZAngband.ini file to be present.
- Added an experimental terminal window option to show a player-centered overhead view of the dungeon.

ZAngband 2.2.5b monster spoilers
I've created a HTML version of the ZAngband Monster Spoilers. The pages are quite large (572 kByte in 10 pages) since every monster is described there in detail.

RAngband bugfix
Eric Bock has uploaded version 1.0.5a of RAngband fixing a small bug in the message when entering a quest level.

4th July 1999

GSNband 1.3b
Gwidon S. Naskrent released a bugfixed version of GSNband. It fixes game crashes when picking money, unwearable amulets, the Klingsor quest and makes !BoLs deeper items.
Amiga ports
Bablos compiled Amiga versions of QAngband, GSNband, and CthAngband.
