ZAngband 2.1.1 finished
The source code, and compiled versions for MS-DOS, and Win95/NT
are available. The following things changed from version 2.1.0e:
Paralysis attacks on a paralyzed player always do at least one hp of damage.
This should prevent "infinite paralysis" from floating eyes.
Added circular rooms from Dag Arneson Ying-YAngband.
Fixed a bug that allowed the creation of artifact-arrows, -bolts, and -shots
with scrolls of artifact creation.
Adam Bolt's tiles are now finished and every monster/object/spell effect has
a tile.
The roguelike commands to show game time (the ' key) and to activate the
racial power/mutation (the O key) work now.
Toned down the TY-curse a bit.
Implemented the item flavoring code from Angband 2.8.3.
Mindcrafter powers are correctly displayed in the spell-list window and don't
crash the game anymore.
The windows version now supports switching between ASCII, old tiles and
Adam Bolt's tiles (with transparency). I also fixed the "double-step bug".
Added a sound-event for the "Hitpoint Warning".
Pets will no longer pick up/destroy items.
Implemented Greg Harvey's patch that adds the macro code from 2.8.3.
Added Heino Vander Sanden's QAngband quest code with big help from Dean
Anderson. I fixed some bugs in the quest code and the quest messages are
correctly pluralized.
Fixed some bugs in the autosaving code.
Fixed a bug in the monster-AI code.
Fixed a bug in the random activations of the mutations, the effects appear
less often now.
Huge amounts of cosmetic changes to remove Zelazny stuff and replace it with Lovecraftian.
Warrior-Mages can now choose Sorcery.
Monster-Health bar now gives status of monster as text.
Heino Vander Sanden's quest code ported from Quangband with minor changes.
Out of genre 'Rockets' replaced with 'Shard balls'.
Most 'silly' monsters removed or replaced.
Multi-stair option for quick level ascending/descending.
'How many?' question for multiple objects now defaults to all rather than 1
(except for buying things).
Links page updated
Some broken links were fixed and many new links added.

KAngband 2.8.2g Ken Wigle published another new version
of the popular KAngband variant. The new version has the following bugfixes:
the rogue can now correctly use illusionist spells.
can no longer end up in a quest level with no monsters
quest difficulty has been toned down (no more way out of depth monsters)
in plot number 2. Seems that "8" symbols are very hard! (-:
items are now identified when the players is rewarded with them.
priest spells have been fixed (some would activate as two spells)
normal monsters can now have escorts and escorts will appear with
monsters when used in quests.
Answering E-Mail
I'm still not finished with answering all the e-mails I've received in the last
three weeks. Especially all the the ideas from the players are not yet added
to my page. There are still over fifty unanswered messages in my inbox, but I'm
slowly working through the heap. ;-)

ZAngband 2.1.1 beta 2
The new beta version fixes the problems with macro-creation, and creation of the
quest levels. It also adds the newest version of Adam Bolt's ZAngband tiles.
I had to change all the configuration for the tiles (over 1000 entries) by hand.
Adam forgot some tiles (Ghoul, Grendel, Night stalker, Killer iridescent beetle,
Balrog, Raphael the Messenger, Shadowlord, and Hell hound of Julian) and his list
is off by 4 rows for all monsters, so I may have introduced some errors.
I've also implemented the item flavoring code from Angband 2.8.3, so all the
colored items will be displayed with the correct color (for instance an icky green
potion will be displayed as a green potion).

www.roguelike.com Joseph N. Hall is starting a new site and
is planning to make it "the" site (or at least one of them) for
information on roguelike games. Right now it's a blank slate, but he envisions an
FTP/HTTP download site for all the official releases of angband/nethack/
variants, "spoiler central", and information about modifying/designing
roguelike games. It should go online in the next days.
ZAngband 2.1.1 beta 1 bugs
I've added more bug-reports to my ZAngband bug page.
Btw, if anyone has a nice picture of a bug (a picture of an insect,
not a ZAngband screenshot) to include on this page, then
send it to me.
Topi Ylinen's ZAngband winner character
Topi posted his first ZAngband winner character to
rec.games.roguelike.angband
and I've added it to my site. I've yet to win a ZAngband game. My most promising
characters died two weeks ago after some Cyberdemons decided that a Human
Chaos warrior is a nice target for shooting practise. Ok, I've learned my lesson:
Always check for Shard resistance after your chaos patron "rewards"
you with a new form. (Can you guess what race I had before?)

I'm back !!!
The last two weeks were very hectic for me. I've got a job and moved from Dresden
to Karlsruhe. I'll now try to answer all the e-mails from the last two weeks
and browse rec.games.roguelike.angband
to get up-to-date with all (Z)Angband news.
My work for CAS Software GmbH
will eat up most of my time, but I'll continue the (Z)Angband development.
ZAngband 2.1.1 beta 1 bugs
I've got many bug-reports for the ZAngband beta
and already fixed some. Thanks to everyone for the detailed bug reports and
especially for the bugfixes.
